What happened in 2011?

Thank you to all of our supporters

All of us here at AFRIKAYA would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for all of your generosity and support in 2011. Without YOUR help and support we couldn’t be offering this community in New Yundum The Gambia any HOPE or PROMISE.  Because of the generosity of so many we have been able to offer them BOTH … the promise of a school and hope for their future which will make a difference for generations to come!!!  Thank you!

WHERE HAS YOUR MONEY GONE?
…..What Have We Done With It??

Purchased a plot of land 30 x 60m in a community in need of a school.

Legal Fees for land purchase.

Memorandum of Understanding with Education Dept.

Set up as a charity within the Gambia.

Secured planning permission and occupancy Certificates.

Dropped a Bore Hole on the school site.

Built security building for the solar powered water pump and water tank.

Built a perimeter wall securing the land.

Made enough eco friendly compressed earth bricks to build the school.

Planted mango trees & a protective surround.

Hosted a tree planting ceremony for the village Imam to bless the school site.

      PLANS FOR 2012

CAN WE BUILD IT IN 2012? …
          YES WE CAN!!
This is going to be a busy year for AFRIKAYA, possibly our busiest yet!!  You have seen what we did in 2011 and what we accomplished as a direct result from your generosity.  Well, 2012 is our year to see our vision take firm roots and physically build our school from the foundations up.  WE, AT AFRIKAYA & THE NEW YUNDUM COMMUNITY, ARE SO EXCITED!!

WE HAVE MORE MONEY TO RAISE
AND WE
CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!!
