Clench 8
The Clench 8 and Family Fun Run (Tough Terrain, Terrible Weather but Terrific Event”) was held on 12 June 2011 in support of the charity Afrikaya and organised in association with the Pewsey Vale Running Club - Race Director, Rob Mead.

This was a tremendous success as can be seen from the comments below. Despite the appalling weather it raised over £1,000 for the charity. For thank you's to our sponsors, please click

We are already in the process of making the Clench 8 an annual event - so watch this space and check in at Runners World www.runnersworld.co.uk

CLENCH 8 FEEDBACK

"Pewsey Vale – the X country mecca!”                         Stephen
Tough Terrain, Terrible Weather but Terrific Event”    Runners World

“This race is certainly not for the faint-hearted, it would be tough on a normal day, on a particularly wet and windy day some of the descents were a little bit hairy but I would definitely return and do this again, especially as the race was a charity event to raise money for a local community charity supporting a project in the Gambia, so more than worth the entry fee which was good value anyway. Finally, an enormous thanks to the marshalls, every single one despite being completely drenched and windswept did a fantastic job of both marshalling and encourgaing every single runner. Excellent job guys and I really hope you make this an annual event”                                                                        Runners World

“The people I knew who were running absolutely loved it despite the weather and they said the course was great, they would definitely be back next year!
Ben enjoyed the fun run too – a little bit of rain certainly wasn’t going to put him off!
Glad the event raised so much money, that is amazing and well done to you Rob for helping to organise it, the day went very well indeed.”                    Kerry

“Really enjoyed (!?) the run today....please pass on our thanks to the brilliant marshals who were so cheerful despite the dreadful weather!!”            Michelle

“Well done today, it must be a relief that it's over.
I thought it went well, and everyone seemed happy.  I had some really positive comments from the runners about the route despite the weather.  I think a lot of people would be interested in running it next year if it goes ahead.”                            Amanda

“I just wanted to thank you for the most fantastic race today. Kitty and I both loved it. It was the most beautiful course, and we had a great morning together. It was brilliantly organised, and just great. Thank you.”                                          Vic
